Our Approach

Our approach is simple yet powerful: we focus on the girl herself — her identity, agency, and skills — and her world — the families, schools, and communities that shape her life. Through mentorship, menstrual health programs, academic excellence initiatives, STEM, entrepreneurship, and climate resilience training, we help girls thrive while engaging parents, teachers, and leaders to build a supportive environment.

Core Programs

Our work is delivered through three core, interconnected programs: Girls Mentorship, Girls Support, and Girls Safety. These programs are anchored in schools and communities, and are supported by a dynamic mentorship model that integrates life skills, academic support, and community engagement.

Girls Mentorship

At the heart of Empowered Girls is our mentorship program, delivered through Empowered Girls Clubs. These clubs run in partner, affiliate, outreach, and primary schools through a structured four-year spiral curriculum tailored to girls’ developmental stages. Our mentorship creates safe, brave spaces for girls to grow into confident, informed, and purposeful leaders.

Girls Support

We believe that for girls to succeed, their basic needs must be met. Girls Support addresses economic and social barriers that hinder education and well-being.

Girls Safety

No girl can thrive without safety. Our Girls Safety program works to create emotionally, socially, and physically safe environments in schools, homes, and communities.

A Holistic Model for Transformation

What makes Empowered Girls unique is our integrated, community-driven model:

Mentors from within the community foster trust and relatability.  | Programs evolve with girls, from primary school to alumni. | Boys and parents are engaged to transform the cultural and social systems around girls. | Data-driven insights ensure our programs remain responsive and impactful.
